A gallery of fine artist prints by Essie DeLoach depicting historic scenes of Savannah and the surrounding area.

Essie DeLoach is a native Georgian. Her studio is located in her home on a farm near Savannah where she and her husband reside.

She has had a life long desire to paint. While raising her family, she began taking workshops at night and devoting her spare time to painting at home.

Ms. DeLoach prefers watercolor for her delicate florals and oil for the richness of historic southern scenes.

Her love of the South enables her to convey through her work the grace and beauty of the subjects she paints.

River StreetSteeped in history, this picturesque street was once a bustling cotton port on the Savannah River. In the 1970s River Street's cotton warehouses were renovated. Now as quaint shops and restaurants they are enjoyed by visitors from around the world. Shown double matted blue with mauve.

The Gingerbread HouseCompleted in 1899, Savannah's Gingerbread House on Bull Street has been admired for both its ornate gingerbread trim and beautiful multi-victorian colors. Originally built for Cord Asendorf, a German born grocer, it was family occupied until 1976. Under new ownership since the early 1980s, the house is now a popular setting for catered special events. The Mercer HouseThe Mercer House is located on picturesque Monterey Square in historic Savannah. It was designed for Hugh Mercer in 1860 and completed just after the Civil War. Featured in the best selling book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, this is the location where the murder took place. Shown double matted white with dark green.

Bluff DriveTo stroll beneath the ancient moss draped live oaks on Bluff Drive is like taking a step back in time. Lining one side of the narrow road, enclosed by a white picket fence, are well kept 19th century styled houses that overlook the lazy Skidaway River. Isle of Hope’s tranquil beauty attracts many visitors. The road has been featured in several movies filmed in the area. Shown double matted dark green with maroon.

The Cathedral of St. John the BaptistThe Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is located on the corner of Abercorn and Harris streets. This magnificent cathedral of gothic architecture is the Mother Church of the diocese for Southeast Georgia. This is the cathedral as it is seen when looking across beautiful Lafayette Square. Whitfield SquareWhitfield Square, on Habersham Street, was laid out in 1851. It is the last of Savannah’s squares to be completed. There, in a setting of aged moss draped live oaks, its Victorian gazebo invites lovers who happen by. Shown single matted dark green.

The Olde Pink HouseThe Pink House on Reynold’s Square has an exciting history. James Habersham Jr. built this stately Georgian mansion in 1771 on land granted by the crown of England. This wealthy planter’s home held many secret meetings, which helped secure the independence of the 13 colonies from England. During the Civil War, when Savannah was taken over by Sherman’s troops, The Olde Pink House became headquarters for General York. After years of neglect work began in 1992 to restore it to its original grandeur. Today as a unique restaurant and tavern, one can enjoy elegant southern dining in Savannah’s only 18th century mansion. Shown single matted maroon.

Waving Girl
The Waving Girl monument was erected in 1971. It was dedicated to Florence Martus, who waved for 44 years to welcome incoming ships and to say goodbye to out-going ones.
